Qatar’s growing imports of raw materials and goods require an advanced commercial port. New Port, strategically located south of Doha, is a QAR 27 billion (US$7.4 billion) megaproject that will span a 26.5 square kilometre area. It will include a port, a base for the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces and the Qatar Economic Zone 3.

As Qatar heads toward hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022, the New Port project continues toward operational readiness, reflecting the country’s ambitious plans. In turn, master planning of the New Port is closely aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 pillars of environmental, economic, human and social development.

Hepworth Qatar is supplying PVC and polyethylene (PE) pipes and fittings in two phases of the project ‒ the terminal container and the commercial terminal building infrastructure and utility building. The project is scheduled for completion by 2020.
